Welcome To My Newsletter
Watchmaking, anyone?
Why Would Anyone Want To Listen To Me?
I’ve been a watchmaker for more years than I care to count. A wife, two kids, and three continents later—here we are.
Over the years, I’ve worked for Rolex, serviced countless vintage watches in my own workshop, and written for various publications both online and in print. These days, I find myself spending less time at the bench and more time in the classroom. I’m a certified trainer for the FHH—the Fondation Haute Horlogerie—a non-profit that promotes high horology, mostly within the watch world. I teach industry professionals about the finer points of watches and watchmaking, helping them deepen their knowledge so they can keep up with today’s watch-savvy customers.
On top of that, I’m a watchmaking instructor for the Horological Society of New York, and I really enjoy it.
If you’re not familiar, we teach hands-on watchmaking classes to the public. It’s a great time—people love getting up close with the mechanics, and it’s incredibly rewarding to share that knowledge.
I’ve also recently started writing again for Revolution as a freelance author. And when time allows, I’ll still service a watch here and there. It’s hard to stay away completely.
Why Substack Now?
Why not? With Watches and Wonders 2025 just under a week away, I figured now was the perfect time to share a few thoughts—and kick off this whole Substack thing.
My main goal at the fair isn’t to cover it like traditional media. I’ll be there as a tour guide, helping clients experience the newest releases across all brands—with the benefit of an industry expert by their side.
When I’m not on tour guide duty, join me as I navigate the fair, go hands-on with new releases, and bring you along for all the action.
So, what kind of content can you expect here?
Once Watches and Wonders is a distant memory, I’ll be sharing all kinds of watchmaking content to keep things fresh. Expect behind-the-scenes looks at vintage pieces, up-close explorations of movements, and deep dives into new releases—where we won’t gloss over the technical stuff.
We’ll also take a broader look at the industry as a whole. You can count on honest, respectful conversations about brands and their releases.
This newsletter is for people who love horology—for those who want the technical side explained in a straightforward way, and who appreciate real talk about what’s happening in the watch world.
The newsletter will go out weekly, but during Watches and Wonders, expect near-daily updates to keep you in the loop.
For just $5/month, you’ll unlock everything—and support independent watch journalism in the process.
Not ready to commit? No worries—there’s free content too, and it’s made with just as much care.To everyone who subscribes, thank you sincerely for your support—it truly means a lot and is deeply appreciated.
So please, join me as we kick off Watches and Wonders 2025 by subscribing to follow along—through the fair and beyond.

Glad I found this!
